Memorial day weekend is the official kick-off to summer. This is when we bust out our BBQ’s, and bring out our bikini’s, swim trunks, and flip flops. The smell of grilled food, and potato salad fills the air, and ice cold lemonade and beer cools our parched throats. Little kids eat bomb pops and ice cream, and many attend community BBQ’s, parades and beach parties.
During all your celebrating this year, make sure to think about what this holiday is all about in the first place… Our Veterans both living and those who have passed from this life. You would not be celebrating or having the freedoms you do without their bravery and strength. I dedicate this blog post to all our vets and active duty military. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Thank you for all you do!!

I just have to give a quick shout out to my husband who is now a Warrant Officer! Congrats to you John! I love you!

Quick snap shot of John and the Captain before I went up to put his shoulder boards on.

In the spirit of the holiday weekend, I put together these fashion sets. They are very “stars and stripes forever”! 🙂 I think they are such fun. I actually have the American flag bikini pictured here, and will be wearing it this weekend, and the 4th of July (my bottoms are actually better than this one. I bought mine from Venus Swimwear)

For a day out on the boat, with cocktails in the evening!

Fun and casual looks for your BBQ

Today I am tweaking patterns and designing more items for my line. There is so much I want to make and do, but not enough hours in the day. I can’t wait to get everything together and in my new work space. It is going to be just fabulous!! I have been collecting images from Pinterest for design ideas for my work room. I will be posting these in another post in the next couple of days. I am so excited to have a large cutting table so I don’t get horrible backaches from being stooped over on the floor!! For smaller items I use my kitchen counter, but when cutting out a coat with a lot of pieces, I have to move to the floor. Soon this will not be the way! YAY!!
This weekend we are back on our quest for homes. We wont be spending the whole weekend doing this though, as we want to have some family fun out on the water (weather permitting) I hope everyone will have a happy and safe holiday weekend. Thank a Veteran for their service!

Until next post,
