The must have piece for my fall wardrobe!

OK…I admit that when I find something I love to wear, then I dive in to the deep end and surround myself with research on how to make it myself, improve it, style it a new way, or have it in as many colors as I can! My up and coming fall wardrobe is no exception.
When recently going through my closet, I realized that I am in short supply of cute tops!! So while on the lookout for new ideas, I came across something that brought back many fond memories of the 1980’s. Something all over the place right now….the sweatshirt!!
I have been obsessing about these! They are so comfy, warm and functional. You can dress them up or down.

I love this color! A total flashback to…..

Wow…80’s big time.
Designs this time around are anything but plain…lots of bling and graphics

Different neck lines as well..

I am just “batty” for this one! LOL

I love anything with stars!

This is Lanvin

Lace anyone?

basic black

a little leather

Ralph Lauren

and different lengths.

As you can imagine prices vary on these comfy garments…anywhere from $48.00 to over $100.00 easy. I don’t know about you, but I am the kind who would rather make my own. Is it possible? YES!
Check out this photo of my favorite Victoria’s Secret supermodel sweatshirt…

And now check out Kwik Sew pattern # 3892….

Pretty cool! Sweatshirts are easy to make, and the sky is the limit with what you can do with one. You can refashion the neckline, change the length and style of the sleeve, embellish them, print and paint them, and on and on…
Of course I am like most people and just like to buy my clothing at times too, but these tops come together so fast, there is no reason not to make several in one sitting!! I plan on getting to work on mine as soon as my fabric arrives!! A quick and easy staple to add to my wardrobe for the coming season. 🙂

Today I also posted up The Cupid Dress at the following link parties…

Today we have some VERY overcast weather, and it is making me rather sleepy. I have a bunch of projects lined up to cut out, so I guess I better get to work on those!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
Until next post,
