Getting back to normal with my fitness and eating clean

Good afternoon all!
Things are progressing here at home with unpacking, and setting up house. It is a long process trying to find out where things will go, and how furniture will be arranged etc. I have a lot of square footage to cover, and I want it all to look nice! We haven’t even started outdoors yet! I have gardens to plan and flowers and sitting areas to construct. It’s a lot of work, but so worth it.

Because of the sale of our home, the move, and being so busy, my workout plan and eating clean has been spotty at best. I am finally starting to get back into the groove of things, by starting with walks and runs around my neighborhood.

It has been extremely hot these past few days here, with heat indexes at around 102 degrees. So we missed a few days, not only due to illness, but HEAT! This was taken at around 9am. I usually like to be out no later than 8am, but I was up coughing all night long 🙁
It was so hot out! We kept the walk relatively short, and were out only 45 minutes at most. I usually like to go for an hour or so. We only walked today due to the heat, and I am not 100% back to health yet. This cold is just lingering! I hate it.

Coming back down our street. Today was recycle day. I am so glad my city has a program! Because for the last 6 years I lived in a city that DIDN’T! You had to pay a private service to pick up your recyclables! LAME.

When we got home it was time to eat some breakfast. It was kashi waffles with strawberries, 1 tbsp of real maple syrup, 6 sliced strawberries, 2 boiled eggs and my english breakfast tea.

My husband is still working on putting the garage together…AKA his workshop and also our home gym. He just needs to shuffle a few more things around, and then I can finally use my treadmill and weights! YAY!

Tonight I hope to go for a walk with the family again. I absolutely love our new neighborhood, and walking around it is nothing but a pleasure. When we go for our evening walks after dinner, it gives us a chance to totally unwind, relax and reconnect as a family.

The sun sets on another great day in the neighborhood!

My son always has fun when we go on our walks. He loves to run and laugh, and tease his sister, trying to get her to play with him. It is funny to watch.

Here he was taunting both his sister and dad…he wanted them to chase him!

I am about to go into the kitchen and whip up some “butternut squash macaroni and cheese”. My son requested it yesterday. It is so yummy! It is a light recipe, and can be found on my Pinterest “clean eats” board HERE.

After dinner I hope to get that walk in, before the rain hits!! I can hear thunder in the background…the storm is coming closer!!

Until next post,
Amy
