Snow day! and FDOE (full day of eating)…

If you follow us on Instagram (if you don’t you should!) You would already know that we had a nice snow storm blow through our area, which means SNOW DAY! We had over 13 inches of snow fall in a short period of time, so of course roads and businesses shut down. For those who read this, and live in areas of the world, or country that have FEET of snow on a daily basis, please try to understand. We don’t get gobs of snow like you do, so therefore people don’t know how to drive in it! Safety first! You have to be out of your mind to want to get on the road with people who don’t get the concept of sliding on ice! So, this is why everything just stops.
A snow day is a nice opportunity to just stay indoors, and be with family, which is exactly what we did. We caught up on some work, and shows we watch, we got in a good leg workout in our home gym, and we even had a little champagne! Here are some of the images we took over the last two days, as well as my FDOE pictures, showing what I ate all of Saturday.

Starting the day
So on Saturday morning, we woke up an had our usual lemon water, with Braggs apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of water. If you have not read about the wonderful things lemon water and ACV can do for your health, and skin, please click here! I have noticed a huge difference in the way I look and feel since starting my daily morning elixir.

After drinking down our elixir, we made some coffee. After catching up on some emails and social media posts, I made breakfast. I found this on Friday at my local Trader Joes and decided t give it a try. My kids and I love salmon, so naturally we loved this!

This is what I ended up eating for breakfast…

Workout and post workout meal
After we let our breakfast digest for about an hour, we headed into our home gym, for a nice heavy leg workout….

My yummy post workout shake was a meal in of itself. It consisted of frozen unsweetened tropical fruit, baby kale, baby zucchini, chia seeds, flax, all natural whey vanilla protein, a dab of almond butter, and coconut water.

Lunch
For lunch we went classic, with a grass fed beef burger, with organic oven fries. I didn’t have cheese on my burger, but instead I had spinach, reduced sugar ketchup, and dijon mustard.

Treat time
Because we never drank our New Year’s even Champagne, we decided to have it before dinner in front of the fire. The only time of year we really drink Champagne is at the new year.

Dinner
By the time dinner rolled around I was tired. I just wanted to relax on the couch and watch movies. I just didn’t feel like cooking. This is when John stepped in and took over. I don’t know about anyone else out there, but when ever my husband is left to his own devices, he ends up cooking something I wouldn’t normally eat. LOL! I didn’t end up taking a photo of the little bit I did eat (it looked ugly) but I will say that I am not complaining he offered to cook. I ate about a half cup of this, with some jasmine rice…

This Kung Pao Chicken is not bad, and the macros aren’t the worst I have ever seen, but I was just not in the mood for it after having a burger earlier.
The Day after…
We woke the next day to a winter wonderland. It is always so pretty when it snows here with all the trees. My son immediately got dressed and headed outdoors to sled and play in the snow.

Taking new shots for the web
We needed some new photos for our blog and website, and the snow provided a beautiful backdrop for this. Ciarra and I decided to wear our matching coats md boots. We wanted a nice clean bright look to match our surroundings. John did a great job as usual with the photos.

It was a nice relaxing day. We are a very close family, and we really enjoy spending together. What do you do when the weather turns cold, and you have to stay indoors? Comment below! Share with us. Don’t be a stranger!
