Hello again!
So begins a new series of posts I will be doing! I will share a different artist of the week! I will keep it pretty simple and share some selected works, starting with…
Pierre-Paul Prud’hon
(1758-1823)

Pierre-Paul Prud’hon is known as a draftsman and painter, whose style bridged Neoclassicism and Romanticism (I’m a huge fan of both of these styles!). He was influenced by the works of Correggio and Leonardo da Vinci (who is one of my favorite artists ever!) after spending time in Italy during his younger years. Here are a few examples of his work, enjoy!

I especially love this piece The soul breaking the bonds that attach to the land. The use of light here and the overall dreaminess of the work is just gorgeous in my opinion.

So I hope you all enjoyed the first installment of artist of the week! Stay tuned for the next one! 🙂
