October recap and November updates…
Hello again everyone. I know it has been a while since we have updated this blog, but there is good reason for that. Let’s just say, October was a very weird month, filled with mishaps and illnesses. To catch everyone up, here is a quick October recap, as well as a few November updates.
October 2017…the weirdest month of our lives…
Wow…just wow…that would be how I would sum up last month. We had several major things break on us, plus Ciarra contracted pneumonia. Because of the sheer bad luck of it all, we didn’t even get around to taking part in a few of our family traditions. Normally October fills us up with this amazing energy, and positive vibe. This year however, everything just went wrong. Because Ciarra was so sick, for the first time ever, we did not carve jack-o-lanterns! This made us sad, but with everything thing going on, we just didn’t get around to it, so this was understandable. With all the Murphy’s law in effect, we vowed that next year, we would make up for the utterly sucky October we had this year. We have some ideas floating around, and tomorrow we will be having a family meeting discussing our plans for the coming year. So I will now stop spewing negativity all over this blog post, and finally get to some of the fun things we actually did get to do last month…
Apple Picking…
Luckily, we were able to make it to our favorite apple orchard in the mountains. This is one of our favorite family traditions, we look forward to every year.

After we did some picking we sampled some cider at the Bold Rock tasting room at Carter Mountain…
Then it was time to go…

After we picked apples we headed to Keswick Vineyards, and Castle Hill Cider. Castle hill was my favorite stop! If you are ever in the area, you must try it out. We liked every single cider that we sampled! The property is so beautiful, and Soren had a good time running wild with Mickey all over the large open grassy fields.

Pumpkin farm…
Every year we head out to Holly fork farm here near our home, to pick our own pumpkins. This year, because we went on a Monday, at a time when most kids are in school, we had the entire farm to ourselves. It was really peaceful, and all the animals were out and about. Several even came right up to us, and posed for pictures!

Walks through the autumn woods…
In fall, I absolutely can’t stand being indoors! With all that amazing beauty out there, I just want to walk amongst the bejeweled trees, and soak in a large dose of that autumn glow that surrounds us…

November Updates…
November is off to a busy and productive start. Yesterday we had a very time crunched photo shoot. We had to race to beat the sunset, as well as fight cold and rain. The pictures from this shoot, and info on what we were taking photos of, will be posted up on the blog soon.
This month also has us working on rebranding, grading patterns, and making samples. There is so much to think about, and do! I have several ideas on designs, blog posts, and tutorials. I have MUCH organizing and planning to do! Let us not forget Thanksgiving (which is also my husband’s birthday) and Christmas shopping/decorating. On top of the usual holiday and work agenda, we also have extra curricular activities going on, such as my son’s Christmas violin recital, and holiday events. My head is swimming! Whew!
So that is what has been going on here with us. What do you have planned this month? How will you be celebrating Thanksgiving this year?? Does anyone have any delicious holiday recipes they would like to share? Don’t be shy! Comment below!
