The Vintage Photo Challenge….
If you are subscribed to our newsletter, and/or follow @amy_stebbins_couture on Instagram, you know I have mentioned a new blog series that we would be starting called “The Vintage Photo Challenge.”For this challenge, we would take some of my favorite vintage fashion photos, and recreate them with our own personal twist added. We are not trying to recreate them exactly, but rather take a big chunk of inspiration from them.
About Photo #1-Cathee Dahmen Photographed by Antonio Lopez.
Antonio Lopez is my favorite fashion illustrator. I studied his work in school. My favorite fashion illustrations of his come from the 60’s and 70’s.
Antonio was also a photographer, and he liked to work with Polaroid cameras a lot. He was a major fashion influencer, and his muses always shot to the top of the fashion modeling scene. One of his discoveries was the subject of our vintage photo today, Cathee Dahmen. Antonio discovered her in the 60’s and she quickly became a supermodel, gracing the covers of many fashion magazines. She was the first Native American supermodel, and one of my personal favorites. Unfortunately Cathee, and Antonio are no longer with us, but their amazing talents and beauty will live on. Thank you Cathee and Antonio for fueling my inspiration! I adore you both.

Our Version…..
Here is the photo we took of Ciarra wearing a top I created just for this photo. We had a lot of fun doing this, and it was great to not have to worry about weather for once while shooting! LOL!

And here are a few extra shots from this shoot….

What do you think of the top Ciarra is wearing here? Would you like to wear one like this? If so, please leave a comment below.
I hope you enjoyed looking at these photos. We can’t wait to shoot and share our September vintage photo! Make sure you are subscribed to this blog so you don’t miss out!
Until next time,
Amy
