On day 24 I am very happy and grateful for those individuals out there who can live and speak the truth. It shocks and disappoints me how many people out there would rather be lied to, or lie themselves, than actually live a truthful existence. Let’s ask the question “why do these people lie?” A simple answer would be “because they lack compassion, integrity, and empathy.” They live or tell a lie in order to make themselves “feel better” but what these individuals are ultimately doing is creating more pain, and anguish, not only for themselves, but for anyone around them. To put that type of energy out in to the world, only brings it right back to them! It is a vicious and ugly cycle. If you can’t be honest with yourself, then you can’t be honest with anyone else. You in turn live a lie.
I refuse to live a lie. If something is uncomfortable, or I can see that someone is completely toxic, I put on my “big girl pants” suck up the fact it might be painful, and face the truth of the situation. This is the only way you can move on, and actually learn and grow!I see people whom I have known for many years, still stuck in the same place where they were, because they don’t want to face the truth and be honest with themselves. They keep repeating the same mistakes over and over, an expecting different results. If they would just look inward to themselves, and seek the truth of who they really are and what is actually important in life, then perhaps things would change for the better.
Not everyone is going to like you. Not every situation is a perfect one, everyone doesn’t win! And there are people out there who will be better at things than you! Instead of being jealous of someone, look to them for inspiration! Instead of thinking you deserve something better, when you haven’t put in the work for it, realize you could put more effort in next time. If you fail at something when you try, Learn from your failures! This is where true ingenuity and success comes from! Most of all, be honest with yourself! When you speak the truth with compassion to others, and yourself, a weight is lifted. Happiness and loving light flows in where negativity and darkness once festered. Just be honest! Here are some of my favorite quotes on the subject of truth and honesty.
Do you value truth and honesty in your life? Are you honest with yourself? What are you thankful for today?
