Red Velvet Lounge Dress….
If you read my “November Favorites” post, then you already know a little about the dress I am wearing here. The pattern for this dress is based on a knit dress I bought a few years ago, that I could no longer purchase. I love the unfussy comfort of the fit, and how it can be worn many ways. I had several yards of this cranberry red stretch velvet in my fabric stash, so I decided to use it for this dress. It’s perfect for the holiday season, and so warm, soft and cozy. I am in the process of making another of this same dress in a lightweight cotton jersey. I will be posting the photos for that one soon too. It will be interesting to see how the two fabrics differ in the final product. I also changed the sleeve pattern piece as well.
I am thinking about making a few of these and putting them up in the shop. Because this dress is not a custom item, and instead a “ready made” item, the price point will reflect that. I have been thinking of creating a “basics” line, and this would be one of the first items in this line.
Thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated!
Until Next Post,
Amy
